Welcome to our “30 Seconds on Shipping” video series, brought to you by Great Circle International, https://gcinternational.ca/
Today we are going to looking at using a forwarder for trucking or over the road shipments.
Many trucking companies will work directly with the shipper of the goods and many shippers prefer to work directly with the trucking company.
It is worth noting that there are some carriers that will only work with forwarders and some carriers will only work with the shipper.
Using a forwarder you can take advantage of the volume pricing than you can not get as a shipper going directly to a carrier.
Each carrier has different strengths in different lanes. A forwarder will know which carriers to contact to get the best service for your lane and cargo.
A forwarder will use their pool of carriers or call multiple carriers, this will save you a lot of time and emails.
The shipment will get handled for you by the forwarder from door to door so you can focus on growing your business.
In summary, with a forwarder, you get better trucking rates and you do less work!
